Today is a wet and windy Thursday in the UK. As it’s August and I live by the sea, I’d planned to go for a swim, but since that’s been foiled I’ve decided to spend some time on FutureLearn instead.
As a self-employed person, I’m responsible for my own CPD, otherwise known as continuing professional development. My schedule is flexible so I love using MOOCs, Massive Open Online Courses, and I’m currently halfway through a three-week course called Learning from the Past in which researchers from the University of Nottingham and University of Birmingham teach how to make the most of the British Library’s resources. It’s a real privilege to just be able to log on and geek out!
